HERO LICHEN

This work is made of home décor fabric, wood, foam, toilet brushes, straight pins, and saw palmetto fronds. The materials reference the domestic, becoming a nonsensical and unusable ottoman. The form, fronds, and textures reference the natural. This piece explores cultural and social defense mechanisms. This work was heavily inspired by the ornate and impractical nature of antique furniture.
